Shooter of the year Program
A point system will be utilized for determination of Shooter of the Year. A
minimum of 5 qualifiers and the state tournament will be required to be
eligible for Shooter of the Year program. Each shooter will be given 50
points for each qualifier in which they participate, and 1 point will be
given to the shooter for each competitor they beat. An additional 5
points will be given to 1st place, 3 pointes to 2nd place, and 1 additional
point to 3rd place. Total of the 5 best qualifiers plus the points from State
Shoot will be combined to determine Shooter of the Year. Each class
must have an average of 5 shooters per qualifier in order to have a
Shooter of the Year. No SOY will be awarded for Open C or Bow Novice
class. This system is based on the ASA guidelines in place for Shooter of
the Year.

TURNPIKE: Here is the new schedule for this
upcoming year. As you will see we again have
some major sponsors that want to donate
prizes throughout the summer. We purchased
22 Mckenzie targets last fall that we will be
using this year in conjunction with the Rineharts
that we already have. We have always tried to
keep the targets in very good shape and this
year is no exception. We will be having our first
shoot of the year March 1st and March 2nd --
Lets all hope for good weather.
The range should be better than ever this
year--we have 4 complete ranges that we will
continue to rotate the targets on so you
shooters do not shoot the same one over and
over. We have also added a field round course
and we will be mixing in some of the field
targets with the 3-d targets you shoot. The way
it will work is that you will most likely shoot 4 3-d
animals with the standard one arrow per target
and then number 5 target will be a field target
with marked yardage that you will shoot 4
scoring arrows ( same 12, 10, 8, 5 format ) so
for example if you shoot 20 3-d animals and 5
field round targets you will have a potential of
400 points ( 200 for all tens on the 3-d and
200 for all tens on the field round) this will give
you allot more shooting and should be allot of
fun.
This should be a good year at Turnpike and
please note that some of our tournaments will
be a team shoot--these are always a good
chance to blow your horn so if you have a
shooting partner, come on and lets all shoot em
up and have a great time.
